Courage to Know the Truth
Counselling to embrace authenticity will require willingness from you to face your truth. It is not hard, but it is uncomfortable in the beginning. Then - and only then - will it set you free. You will be able to make the right decisions according to the life who wants to live in you, rather than the life you want to build. Do you understand the difference? It takes courage to face the fact that we are not in control of our lives, and that there is a life who wants to live in us that might be different from how we want to live. This is one of the hard truths about life.
Process & PersistenceIt is important for you to know that embracing your authenticity is a process, and that it takes time and effort. It will not happen overnight or in two or three sessions. Therefore, it is vital to be willing to hold on to the process with persistence.
The process consists of (but is not limited to) two major points:
1. Identify the major behaviours and ways of thinking you have used that might not be working anymore (Loyal Soldiers), and discharge or retire them.
2. Familiarise and examine your relationship with your father and mother to identify the major complications and fractions in your heart that shaped your personality, with the objective to have a new perception of yourself.
As I said before, this is a process and there is no linear path. There is no step 1, 2 and 3. The most important component is your willingness to embrace the authentic male journey and stick with it.
I, Felipe Oliveira, am a Counsellor for Men seeking to live an authentic life, and I can take you through this process. Get in touch and let’s examine your life together.
